
Federal Audit Consultant, Financial Reports Section (FNR)

DJS Consulting Group is looking for thoughtful, analytical, high energy, and detailed individuals to join our Government & Public Sector team. We need a self-driven Federal Audit Consultant with a proven history of proactively and holistically supporting federal audit engagements.

Requirements
-
Recording receivables for transactions.
-
Correspondence for dunning letters, payment agreements, and write-off debt.

Entry of daily CSA fee deposits.
-
Processing cancelled payments.
-
Reimbursable accounting and Department of State 1221/Voucher Auditor’s Detail Report (VADR) reconciliation and reporting via the Central Accounting Reporting System (CARS) and Government-wide Accounting (GWA).

Monthly reconciliations.
-
Difference Reports.
-
Other data entry and data review tasks in support of FNR accountants.

Review revisions, and documentation of Standard Operating Procedures.

Prepare reimbursable billing packets through submission to customer agencies.

Review and process expenditure transfers.
-
Entry of IPAC transactions.
-
Review of PP&E transactions.
-
Assist in preparing audit samples for external auditor review.
-
Organize and prepare various quarter-end financial entries to include AGEO and other accruals.

Assist in preparation of quarterly communication memos from the Office of Finance.

Assist in review of various portions of the quarterly financial statement package and related checklists.
Qualifications
-
MBI Security Clearance.
-
Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance required; CPA or MBA preferred.

In depth knowledge of Federal fund accounting principles, procedures, and U.S.
Government Standard General Ledger.

Experience in auditing Federal financial operations, including compliance reviews
of federal financial processes.

Minimum of 1 years of experience in Federal accounting.

Experience in reconciliation projects related to Federal financial operations, preferably related to U.S. Treasury payment and collection processes and mediums including Intergovernmental Payments and Collections (IPAC).

Experience in directing and coordinating the work of subordinate staff in similar projects, relating issues to upper-level management, and communicating management’s direction to subordinates.

Knowledge and experience related to automated financial management systems, including accounting and budget systems used by Federal agencies, preferably Momentum Financial Systems.

Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Excellent interpersonal relationship skills, ability to build and maintain effective relationships at all levels.

Ability to motivate others.

Proficiency in the use of Windows Office Software, i.e., Access, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
