Dustin is a growth-focused executive with 20+ years of experience delivering innovative solutions to the Intelligence Community, Department of Defense, and local governments. Dustin has leveraged his engineering background and over a decade of service within the Intelligence Community, to drive business growth strategies across a spectrum of organizations, from startups to Fortune 100 system integrators. Dustin brings to DJS proven approaches to Business Development, Capture Management, Marketing, and Proposal Processes, to facilitate DJS reaching new heights.

Tangent Askew

With over 20 years of executive leadership in both private industry and government operations, Tangent serves as the vital, operational backbone of DJS. In her multifaceted role, she drives enterprise-wide alignment by partnering directly with founders Douglas Janney (CEO) and Joseph Sawyer (COO), ensuring mission success across every contract and client engagement. Tangent orchestrates seamless daily operations across DJS’s diverse portfolio of federal contracts. Leading cross-functional initiatives, Tangent supports staff growth and morale through transparent communication, comprehensive performance management, adaptive policy structures and a hands-on approach. She champions initiatives to modernize operations that scale with the company mission and goals. Tangent blends deep government-sector insights with executive-level stewardship to help the firm navigate complexity and scale with experience, empathy and integrity. Tangent firmly stands by the idea that operational clarity, integrity, taking care of employees, and strong customer partnerships are the cornerstone of success.

Brandi Armstead is a dedicated Human Resources professional with over 10 years of experience, including 8 years in government contracting. She holds a M.A. in Management and a M.S. in Human Resource Management, along with multiple certifications, including SHRM-CP, PHR, PHRca, and SPHR. Brandi brings compliance, payroll, recruiting, benefits administration, and employee relations knowledge. She is passionate about developing and implementing HR strategies that align with company objectives, ensuring operational efficiency, and fostering a positive workplace culture. Her strategic approach to HR drives organizational growth and success.

Douglas Janney

Douglas Janney is an experienced business owner and Contract Specialist with 16+ years in acquisitions working directly with the Army, Air Force, GSA, DOT, and Homeland Security​. Janney served 11 years in the Air Force as an Aircraft Armaments Specialist and Contract Specialist/Contracting Officer​, building the foundation for his wealth of acquisitions and contracting expertise. He currently has DAWIA Level II in Contracting​, Top Secret Security Clearance SSBI​, and a B.S. in Organizational Management.

Joseph Sawyer, Jr.

Joseph Sawyer is an 11-year Air Force veteran with 20+ years in contract management. During his time in the Air Force, he held a $2M Warrant and was responsible for effectively managing over $600M in construction and services contracts, including managing more than 40 deployed personnel located throughout Afghanistan, Iraq, Africa, Kuwait, and Qatar. Sawyer has also provided exceptional consulting services to Contracting Offices within USMS and FWS.
